Server log files

When this site is accessed, the web host automatically stores data transmitted by your browser in log files. These are essentially:

• shortened or full IP address of the requesting device
• date and time of access
• name and path of the retrieved file, and volume of data transferred
• notification of successful retrieval
• browser type, browser version and operating system
• the previously visited page, where the browser transmits it

Purpose: delivery of the site, ensuring trouble-free operation, and defence against attacks.

Legal basis: Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The legitimate interest lies in the technically correct and secure operation of the site.

Retention: the host deletes the log data automatically after a short period. No merging with other data sources takes place, and no evaluation for advertising or analytics purposes is carried out.

Hosting

This site is operated with IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Straße 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. The host processes the access data listed above on my behalf, on the basis of a data processing agreement under Article 28 GDPR. Processing takes place within the European Union.

No third-party services

Every component of this site — software libraries, fonts, maps and geodata — is hosted on the same web space as the site itself. In particular, no external map services, font services, analytics tools, advertising networks, video embeds or social media buttons are used. Your IP address is therefore not transmitted to any third party when you visit this site.

The links to LinkedIn and other external sites are ordinary hyperlinks. A connection to those providers is established only when you click such a link. Responsibility for the processing that then takes place rests with the respective provider.

No cookies

No cookies are set. A consent banner is therefore not required.

Local storage of the display setting

If you switch between light and dark display, that choice is stored in your browser's local storage (key cu-theme). The entry stays on your device, is never transmitted to the server and contains no personal data. You can delete it at any time via your browser settings.

Contact by email

If you write to me, I process your details solely in order to deal with your enquiry. The legal basis is Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR, or Article 6 (1) (b) GDPR where an employment relationship is being initiated. Messages are deleted once they are no longer required for that purpose and no statutory retention obligations apply. This site has no contact form.

Your rights

You have the following rights in respect of your personal data:

• access to the data processed (Article 15 GDPR)
• rectification of inaccurate data (Article 16 GDPR)
• erasure (Article 17 GDPR)
• restriction of processing (Article 18 GDPR)
• data portability (Article 20 GDPR)
• objection to processing based on Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR (Article 21 GDPR)

An informal message to the email address above is sufficient to exercise them.

Right to lodge a complaint

Independently of the above, Article 77 GDPR gives you the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the member state of your residence, your place of work or the place of the alleged infringement. The authority responsible for my location is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Baden-Württemberg.

Encryption

This site is delivered exclusively over an encrypted connection (HTTPS).
